CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®
The largest team at First Manhattan, as measured by AUM, seeks a mid-career wealth planner to join the team. This professional will support and collaborate with the team's senior wealth planner. As this professional will be expected to contribute to the wealth planning and portfolio management efforts of the group, financial planning experience and strong communication and analytical skills are critical.
The team is looking for someone who is passionate about financial planning and investment management and can advise clients in ways that deliver the best outcome based on individual client circumstances. The preferred candidate will be extremely detail-oriented and able to effectively communicate internally and externally, both verbally and in writing. This candidate must be self-motivated and entrepreneurial as well as able to work collegially and collaboratively. The competitive selection process will focus on the candidate’s work experience, ability to formulate and communicate financial planning strategies, prepare and present wealth analyses, and attention to detail and drive.
Qualifications:
The CFP® certification is a prerequisite for this position. Additionally, the candidate must have five to seven years’ financial planning experience in private wealth management and a passion for advising clients on an array of financial and life decisions. Responsibilities:
The role includes advising clients on a broad range of financial and estate planning issues, including cash flow management, retirement planning, education planning, risk management, inheritance, charitable giving, multi-generational estate planning, and more. The candidate will support and collaborate with the senior CFP® in the creation of holistic wealth analyses, from the data gathering process up to and including the presentation of those analyses. The scope of the individual’s role and contribution to the team will expand as the requisite skills are demonstrated. The candidate may also be involved in portfolio management, which would help him/her to become familiar with the client base.
Compensation:
The position offers competitive compensation consisting of a base salary plus a performance-based bonus, depending on the individual’s ability to directly impact the quality of service delivered to clients and attract additional AUM to the Firm.
