Our back office plays an integral role in assisting our Investment Advisory teams in providing high-touch service to our clients. These teams are responsible for daily operations as well as providing high-quality information and/or reporting to our Investment Advisors and Relationship Managers on a scheduled and/or ad-hoc basis.

The Finance and Operations teams are looking for someone with the ability to perform a hybrid role within both departments. This person should have some experience in partnership taxation and working knowledge of corporate and high-net-worth individual taxation as well as basic security types and the financial services industry. The right person does not have to have deep knowledge in both industries but should have the ability to learn quickly and seek answers by using various resources to do basic research.

The preferred candidate will be able to multitask in both areas and quickly learn how to navigate various systems and assist with new projects. This person must have the ability to maintain a calendar of tax filing and payment deadlines for numerous taxing authorities. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to effectively communicate both internally and externally with Partners, clients, and service providers.


Qualifications:

A degree in Accounting, Taxation and/or Finance. Two to four years partnership tax experience at an accounting firm servicing clients in the financial services industry. The ideal candidate has some Hedge Fund taxation experience, but this is not mandatory.

Skills include:

  • CPA, CFA, Series 7 and/or Series 63, a plus
  • Excellent MS Excel skills
  • Solid understanding of partnership allocations
  • Prosystems fx experience preferred

Responsibilities:

The role includes preparing partnership tax returns. Assisting with the coordination with external tax providers to prepare fund K-1s, partnership tax returns, corporate tax returns and quarterly estimate calculations and payments. Assisting with the coordination with our custodian in the accurate preparation and timely distribution of client 1099s and other required tax reporting. Researching corporate actions and calculating changes to tax basis. Assisting with the firms quarterly billing process. Reconciling cash and position breaks with Custodians and providing basic valuation and transaction reports using our proprietary systems.

Compensation:

The position offers competitive compensation consisting of a base salary plus a performance-based bonus.
