Leonard Berman is a Partner and Portfolio Manager with more than 20 years of experience in the investment industry, including an extensive background in equity and fixed-income securities analysis. He provides wealth planning and investment management services for individuals, families, professional partnerships, business owners, and charitable trusts.
Len's priorities are to work with clients to develop a financial plan and to invest in a manner that is appropriate based on their specific goals and risk tolerances. He acts as a trusted advisor on a range of topics, including estate planning issues and assets and investments held outside of First Manhattan. Len works closely with Simon Porter, Paul Patrick, and Josh Marans to provide a comprehensive solution set for clients.
Prior to joining First Manhattan in 2006, Len was a Research Analyst in Lehman Brothers' Principal Investing Group and at Eton Park Capital Management, where he focused on equities, event-driven situations, and distressed securities. Previously, he was an Investment Banker for Lehman Brothers in London, covering energy and power companies.
Len serves on the Board of Directors of University Settlement in New York City. He holds a JD from Columbia Law School, an MBA from Columbia Business School, and an AB from Princeton University.
