Olivier Sarfati

Olivier Sarfati is a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager, with 25 years of experience across investment management, equity markets, and derivatives strategy.
Before joining First Manhattan in 2025, Olivier served as Head of U.S. Equities at GenTrust, advising high-net-worth individuals and family offices. Earlier in his career, he was a Managing Director at Citi and a Director at Barclays in Trading and Research, where he led teams in options trading and cross-asset strategy. Olivier’s background includes managing complex investment strategies and overseeing a 12-person team of Macro, Derivatives, and Quantitative analysts supporting institutional and family office clients.
He holds two master’s degrees: one in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from Ensimag, a leading French institution, and another in Financial Markets from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. Olivier has presented original research at the Chicago Board Options Exchange and the Society of Actuaries on topics including backtesting methodologies and hedging frameworks.
Beyond his professional work, Olivier serves on the board of ISEF, which supports educational opportunities for underserved students in Israel.
